The world is heavy. We should allow ourselves beauty when we can find it, when we can see it.

I used to think beauty was not worth much but I can see now how it carries relief and possibility; how it offers a pause. I think our society misplaces it, limits it, this idea of what can be beautiful, the conscription of who is allowed to be beautiful.
Look beyond that.

Beauty doesn’t fix anything. War, hunger, injustice, intimidation, neglect, dishonesty: these things are real. Beauty is not always accessible.
So when it is, I hope you can hold it close.

For what it’s worth, I’m seeking beauty out right now. Seeking it out, and trying to share it when I can, where it’s appropriate.

(Just as I’m trying to do here, now.)
Happy Friday to you.
