For me, 2018 started on a yoga mat, in a room lit by candles, chanting words of peace with my eyes closed and my heart open.
I realize that, with that sentence, I couldn’t get more Northern California, but I’m so grateful for the experience that it doesn’t even matter that I’m suddenly living up to a cultural stereotype. I needed to do something new this year, something that focused on peace. That’s how I want this whole year to be.
Now, the day is ending. It’s been one of my favorite New Year’s Days: a run by the ocean, wandering at my favorite farm, time with dear friends, good food, and not an hour without my husband and our dogs.
The weather couldn’t have been lovelier. I saw both the sunrise and the sunset. And, as I write, the super moon hangs with such majesty.
May 2018 be a time of peace, beauty, wonder, and joy. Happy New Year!
